1/2 vegetable oil
1/2 flour
8 cup pyrex measuring cup. Don't try to use anything smaller than this.
Stir the oil and flour together in the glass measuring cup.
Microwave for 3 minutes.
Stir.
Microwave for 30 seconds.
Stir.
Repeat the last 2 steps until the roux is dark brown (darker than peanut butter, but lighter than chocolate).
Store in a glass jar at room temperature.
