1 T butter
1 T flour
1 C milk, half-and-half, or Heavy Cream
1/4 t salt
1/4 t ground black pepper
4 cloves garlic, minced
optional - for garlic Parmesan sauce - 1/2 C Parmesan cheese
Melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat.
Whisk in flour until well mixed.
Add the garlic; cook, stirring, for 30 seconds.
Whisk in the milk.
Cook & whisk until it comes to a boil and thickens.
Reduce the heat and add the salt, pepper, and Parmesan cheese.
Stir until the cheese has melted and the sauce is well blended.
Remove from heat. It will thicken more as it stands.
Let cool before using on pizzas.
