Make the mix ahead of time and the actual gravy comes together in minutes!
Make-ahead Gravy Mix
2 pounds Bob Evans sausage
1 cup Wondra flour
2 t salt
2 t mild Cajun seasoning
4 t minced fresh sage, or 2 t dried
4 t freshly ground black pepper
Cook the sausage until cooked through and evenly crumbled.
Let sausage cool.
Get out 8 sandwich-size ziplocks.
Put the following into each:
3 ounce crumbled sausage (by weight)
2 T Wondra flour
1/4 t salt
1/4 t Cajun seasoning
1/2 t fresh sage or 1/4 t dried
1/2 t freshly ground black pepper
Seal bags and store in the freezer.
To Make Gravy
1 bag frozen gravy mix
2 cups milk
Combine 1 bag of gravy mix with 2 cups of milk.
Stir and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat and simmer until thick.
